RANUA WILDLIFE PARK (LAPLAND DAY 1)
I always had this dream of visiting ‘’Lapland’’
and seeing the Northern Lights for a couple of years. Well in general, I would
always tell people that I would really just go and visit one day,in the future.
It happened quicker than I thought it would, I finally got to visit and see
Lapland! And let me tell you, it was amazing.
First of all, let’s go right back to the beginning
of this awesome trip. Me and my friends were going to travel with a bus, so we
had to take a train to Tampere first. So we do our daily routines and than we
are off at around 7 PM on the train, going there. I’m thinking ‘’Okay, it’s
just Tampere right? Nothing special.’’ But how wrong was I! Tampere, even at
night looked so magical! I loved the city so much! It almost had this weird
combination of old and new but it looked cool? Industrial cities are normally
pretty boring but with Tampere, there was this thing I just could not explain!
Definitely taking a trip back there in daytime, although I did tour around the
city for an hour despite there being snow and me freezing. I even loved it at
night! I’ll be there Tampere, very soon!
To continue our trip with the bus, we
headed back to the train station and got on the bus. I met an awesome and
amazing person who would be my trip partner (hi Alla!) and we had a blast while
talking for a couple of hours until it was way past midnight so we were
sleeping. I just love it when I get to meet new people and talk about our
passions to eachother. I don’t remember vividly that night since I was half
asleep and half not but I loved to watch the scenery go by with my headphones
on, just looking out of the window until we stopped to grab some breakfast and
freshen up a bit. Why? Because we were going to the Ranua Wildlife Park! So I
was pretty excited for that!
After many many hours, we had finally
reached the park and I had checked my phone to find out it was -11 which was a
bit scary but once we got off the bus, it wasn’t that bad. So we grabbed the
tickets and headed inside and I loved how the zoo was just in a forest where I
guess the animals would feel like home, the area was greater and they could
roam around freely while we basically walked around the park that was covered
in white. Here is the link to the Youtube video I made : https://youtu.be/_NKm_20AFwo
After a while of
walking in there, I did get cold and I mean a lot. I remember not being able to
feel my hands and feet at all, it felt like my face was frozen and I did have a
lot of clothes on I must say but I believe you are never ready for the coldness
of Lapland. But was it worth the experience? Absolutely! Would I go there and
walk in -11 again? Yes! Am I craz7? Probably.
Overall, I
really just enjoyed the wildlife adventure and seeing those animals there,
trying to spot them in the right way and just enjoying the nature. Hopefully,
again in the future, I will visit again but I will take a balaclava this time
with me, so my face is okay.
