Moomin World!

After things started to turn back into more of a ‘’new normal’’, me and my flatmates decided to go to Naantali. My friend had gone there once and I wondered about the place a lot, so we decided to go again. I had heard a lot about the place and how beautiful it was. So, we took the bus 7 and were on our way to Naantali. One of the famous things of Naantali is, of course the Moomin World.

I must say that when we stepped out and started walking around, it was very exciting to see such a beautiful place. We first went down the hill to a beach, where you could see the cathederal. Later on we took a walk around the port and crossed the great bridge to visit the Moomin World. The Moomin World was closed due to the epidemic, so no shops or restaurants were open, but the gates were open to take a walk inside. So, we did that and it was amazing! It was like wandering around and exploring a new island. Also, I did look through the windows too see the props inside and one of my friends knew the story, so she told us which each building was. It was fun!

After exploring the Moomin World and admiring the view, we decided to go along the sea to the village. There were a lot of very nice views and we also found an Ice Cream shop that was open. So, we had some Moomin Ice cream! That was exciting! We also decided that it was time to try the Salmiakki ice cream so we also had that! Both tasted absolutely amazing! We loved them. We sat along the sea and just enjoyed our ice creams as people passed by. It was fun.

After our little break, we decided to take a walk in Naantali. So, we went between the colourful houses and explored the streets. It felt like magic, as if it was a film set. And the fun fact of people actually living in those houses were amazing. It was so colourful and just somewhere to cheer you up really. I loved it. Also, we noticed that a lot of people had either Moomins or bears up on their windows. That was fun to look around and try to spot them.
I will definitely come back to Naantali in the future!
