A CITY FOR EVERYONE!

How did this awesome journey start?

First of all, when I first decided to go on a exchange adventure,I must say that I didn't really think of it as such a great deal.I research a lot,so as my days approached and I decided that Finland was a great place to go and found my school was in Turku,I was extremely excited.''Why?'' you may ask.Well because I love candy! Joke aside,I believed that Finland had a great education system and a lot of snow (which I love cause I absolutely love skiing!) so I decided ''Why not?''.

I guess I really didn't see that I was going to leave my family behind for five months and travel to another country that I had never been to before to study there.I mean,I was planning on going to Finland later on in my life but I wasn't expecting it to be this quick! I was sent off from Istanbul Airport and around 3,5 hours, touchdown! I realized on the plane that now,I was all alone in a different country. So I picked up my bags and went straight to the VR train to catch my train to Turku.

The first thing I would like to point out when arriving to Finland would be the people.Everyone was so nice and helpful when I arrived at the airport and asked them about my train and my platform.I can gladly say that Finnish people love to help and are so kind! Also, they are always smiling! I immediately felt safer. When I arrived in Turku, my tutor picked me up from the train station which is called Rautatieasema Jarnvags Station and helped me to settle down. When we arrived at my dorm and checked everything out, she didn't leave before reaching her pocket and pulling out the great ''Geisha'' chocolate by Fazer! That was such a nice gesture as I told her before that I loved chocolate when we e-mailed before I arrived!

I moved to my dorm which was totally bigger than what I had excepted! I also loved the fact that the dorm was not right in the city center but still, you could reach anywhere in maximum 20 minutes so I liked that! Also,my dorm was close to my campus so that was a great thing! I really just enjoy the area as well as my dorm being close to a forest which is right at the opposite side of the road,so nice for some nature walks! Also I must point out the fact that the bus stops were quite close and all the busses would go to the city center! Overall,I love this living space!
Currently, I have five months of being here and am sure that I will experience a lot of great moments to keep in my memory so…here I come TURKU!

On my way to Finland from Turkey!
